Wassail, traveler, and welcome to The Gable Grey -- a place of retreat, of renewal, and of resistance: a tree-shaded refuge in Dark Times. Now pass the threshold, and rest from journeys! For a cold wind is blowing; and here, if you wish, you may hear tidings of the world without...

Doldrums interrupted, a little

Not much going on lately, so I have been largely quiet at The Gable Grey. Two new movies/reviews are added. Plus, for those interested, Other Minds Magazine has Issue 6 available for download. It's a big issue, and it's pretty good.
The days are turning fine and hot... too hot, and soon to be worse; another Long Summer is nigh. And again, I am not in the Mountains.
The keen-eyed will have noticed a link added some months back, to a site called SurvivalBlog. It's a very informative daily blog with all kinds of sound advice and news, for those who -- like myself -- believe we're in the middle of a great Paradigm Shift. If you are the least bit interested in taking care of you and yours in these dark times, SurvivalBlog is a great resource. It's also comforting to know I'm not crazy for wanting to be as prepared as possible for whatever lies ahead.
Oh, and buy silver. Now, before it shoots up to $50 an ounce or something.

Whiles carried o'er the iron road,
We hurry by some fair abode;
The garden bright amidst the hay,
The yellow wain upon the way,
The dining men, the wind that sweeps
Light locks from off the sun-sweet heaps --
The gable grey, the hoary roof,
Here now -- and now so far aloof.
How sorely then we long to stay
And midst its sweetness wear the day,
And 'neath its changing shadows sit,
And feel ourselves a part of it.
Such rest, such stay, I strove to win
With these same leaves that lie herein.
